A personal letter from creator Trent Westbrook to the fans and friends of CC.

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2013 was an incredible experience!  A very sincere thank you to both Collector’s Planet and Comics Plus and all their employees for hosting the CC title and myself at their stores for FCBD.  Your continuous support is more than appreciated.  Personal shouts out to David De La Cruz, Laura Wilson, Aaron Sauceda, Andrew Sones, Mario Montalvo, Jesse Mendoza, Seida Mendoza, Justin from Disc Go Round, Robert Perez, Jr., Julia Arredondo, Monte Bratten…Alan, Blake, Tim…you all had a hand in making 5/4/2013 a successful day for my title and I have nothing but gratitude for your support. 

A very sincere thank you to all the fans, new and old, who came out to purchase not only today’s release of CC#6, but also those who went back for back issues, all the way back to CC#1!  The turnout was amazing and the enthusiasm so many have shared for this title has been both overwhelming and humbling.  I hope that you all enjoy the story as much as I enjoyed creating it. 

And of course I cannot go on without thanking those who helped to make the title a physical reality, all in your own way…Joey Mitchell, Clegg Smith, Tammy Mahan, Wayne Gunn, Steve and Leila Phillips, Adam Webb, Rudy Vasquez, Al Molina, Eric Calvert and the fellas of Switchblade Jesus.

I never thought I would see any of this happen when I put out that first issue.  Never.  And finishing this story seemed like a pipe dream, but all of you made it happen.  I honestly cannot thank you ALL enough for helping me to reach such an achievement.   And thank you for allowing me to be a part of FCBD.

CORPUS CHRISTI #6 - RELEASE DATE OF MAY 4TH, 2013!

Just in time for the national Free Comic Book Day event on May 4th, 2013, the final issue of CORPUS CHRISTI, VOLUME 1 is released.  Issue #6 is a 64 page trade format comic book, nearly a triple issue compared to the last couple released!  Multiple versions and variants, including variants with a brand new 13 track soundtrack CD featuring bands 2023 and Switchblade Jesus, will be available at the following locations:

Mark your calendars!  October 20th, 2012 is the official release date for CORPUS CHRISTI OMNIBUS VOLUME 1, PART 1!  There will be a book signing with creator Trent Westbrook at COLLECTOR'S PLANET of Corpus Christi, Texas that same day, located at 5929 McCardle in Gulf Way Shopping Center.  More info coming as we get closer to the date!  Stay tuned!

The original Detective Wayne Gunn

This is the original Detective Wayne Gunn!  Dr. Drewey Wayne Gunn, Professor Emeritus of Texas A&M - Kingsville was one of creator Trent Westbrook's professors and a major inspiration for his writing.  The character of Detective Gunn was named after the professor as a tribute for the inspiration and support Westbrook received.  Dr. Gunn recently wrote an introduction for the upcoming CORPUS CHRISTI OMNIBUS first volume, due October 2012!

NEW RELEASES

The next issue of CORPUS CHRISTI (The Comic Book) is due in stores and for sale online in late October of 2012!  Possibly as early as 10/20 but certainly by October 31st!  The story continues immediately where issue 3 left off, so don't miss it!  Issue #4 will have several different variant covers, including an original painted piece by artist Al Molina, and 2 color covers by Trent Westbrook and colorist Joseph Mitchell!
